Business Owner Perry Mandera Shows His Support For Children, Veterans, And The Environment

Perry Mandera is a Chicago area businessman who graduated from high school in 1975. He joined the Marines where he learned all about logistics and transportation. When he got out of the Marines he decided to apply this knowledge in the private sector by starting a package delivery firm (Twitter).

He started his first package delivery company in 1980 and sold it in 1985. The next year he started the company he still heads today, The Custom Companies Inc. His company has customers ranging from very small operations to the biggest multinational companies in the world. He employees several hundred people and his company’s current annual revenues exceed $200 million.

As a philanthropist, Perry Mandera established Custom Cares Charities. This is a nonprofit that benefits the people of Illinois and beyond. His charity mainly focuses on helping children and people who have been impacted by a natural disaster. He’s also always willing to give an individual a hand up who needs one.

Perry has donated a lot of money to youth sports leagues around the greater Chicago area. He has supported over 100 teams and has also served as a coach for football, baseball, and basketball teams. Perry Mandera is also really interested in boxing and has financially supported a number of young people engaged in this sport. One of his boxers even competed in the 2004 Olympics that were held in Spain.

As a former Marine, Perry Mandera also believes it is critically important to support veterans. He has provided financial aid to two nonprofits for veterans, Hiring our Heroes and Marines for Life. Additionally, he has hired a number of veterans at The Custom Companies.

He supports environmental causes. He promoted maximum efficiency as the head of The Custom Companies and has it take part in the EPA’s SmartWay program. This program seeks to reduce carbon monoxide being released from commercial vehicles. By supporting this program Perry Mandera helps keep emissions out of the atmosphere and his company benefits as well. Those companies that take part in this program receive government assistance.
