As an entrepreneur and businessman who travels a lot for his job and his personal life, Sergey Petrossov knew that there had to be a better way to book charter jets than the system that was in place at the time. From the first time that he took a private plane, he identified many different issues that needed to be addressed and put his mind to provide a solution to them. This is how his company JetSmarter was founded in 2012. Sergey Petrossov is not only the founder of the business, but he is also its CEO and Chairman.
Essentially, JetSmarter works a lot like Uber but for traveling by plane instead of by car. Sergey Petrossov used the development team that had worked with him on other projects along with his own capital to create JetSmarter. The JetSmarter app allows people who are wanting to fly by private plane to make the process much less tedious than it had been before. While the app for the company was only available to a small audience at first, in March 2013 it launched to the public after they connected with more partners and raised more capital for the project.
The University of Florida graduate studied finance and business administration before earning his bachelor’s degree. Originally, Sergey Petrossov lived in Russia before his family made the decision to move to the United States when he was still a young child. Like many immigrants, he was shown the value of hard work and became committed to making himself a success. He has been recognized multiple times for his work in the business world by magazines such as Forbes where he was named one of the 30 Under 30 in 2016. JetSmarter is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida but has offices in several different countries.
